What is a Golf League Network (GLN) Group?

·         A GLN Group is hosted by an organization that brings additional value to leagues in the Golf League Network.  Your league may elect to join a Group or remain independent with the GLN.

What are things a Group might offer?

·         A Group may offer a Championship Tournament, giveaways, better (lower) pricing, coupons, inter-league statistics, association benefits, etc…

Must my league join a Group?

·         No.  However, each Group brings a unique value to the GLN that may appeal to your league.

How does my league join a Group?

·         Do not use the primary Registration button on the GLN Home Page.  Instead, register your league through the registration button assigned to the Group.  The system will know that you’re registering with that Group and charge the appropriate fee.

If my league joins a Group must it participate in all the Group events/activities?

·         Once a league registers with a Group, the relationship between the league and the Group is expressly between the Group and the league, and the GLN has no involvement.

Why is some Group pricing lower than the GLN retail price?

·         Groups buy the GLN at a reduced rate and mark it up based on the value they bring to leagues.  In some cases that value is promoted as a price below the standard retail price.

Can my league join a Group after it has signed up for the GLN as an independent?

·         Yes, however it is better to join the Group when first registering, otherwise your league may be paying the GLN retail price and the Group markup on top.

I see a Group my league wants to join, but it won’t let me.  What’s up?

·         Some Groups elect to remain private, by invitation only.  Our suggestion is to contact the Group directly and get an access code so you can register your league.

How did my league become part of a Group without me knowing it?

·         Your league may be part of a league course offering, which signed up with a Group.  A league course is a course that purchased the GLN application in bulk, thereby allowing it to set up an unlimited number of leagues and league golfers at its location.  If the course signed up through a Group, then all leagues within that course are automatically signed up with the Group.

Can individuals join a Group?

·         Not this year.  If a league joins a Group, then all golfers within the league (including subs) have joined the Group.

Can my league join more than one Group?

·         Yes.  Keep in mind, the first Group your league joins will be your league’s primary Group.  Also, the fee for any added golfers will be the cost of the original Group plus the value-add price of any additional Groups.

My league gets value from joining a Group.  What value does the Group get from my league?

·         A GLN Group can communicate with your league’s database of golfers via email if golfer emails exist.  This is important should the Group wish to pass on information relating to a tournament or other event, etc…  Note – all golfers have the option to opt out of such emails.  Also, the Group may also wish to promote sponsors and advertisers to its leagues.

Can my league quit a Group?

·         Not this year.  If your league joins a Group it remains with that group for a year.

What if a Group Host shuts itself down?

·         Your league will revert back to an independent league with the GLN…meaning nothing will happen except your league will no longer be a member of that Group.

I have an organization that would like to Host a GLN Group.  How do I get more information?

·         Contact Jason Snow at Handicomp at 616-588-4356.
